  "I began in the finance/accounting department. Due to a promotion, I was given a great opportunity to see how information that is gathered on the front end affects the entire registration process. Having these insights helps me to find ways to improve the overall patient experience. I strive to treat each individual as if they were a family member visiting our facility. I believe this helps me maintain the correct attitude regarding my duties. I enjoy my position immensely. I am very thankful to be surrounded by wise, intelligent people who saw a position and person, and had the good sense to bring the two together by promoting me."

  "The people I work with are wonderful and without such good synergy, the clinic would not flow smoothly. Each of us brings different strengths to the table and this creates an awesome work environment. If you were to take one person out of the equation, it would not work as well. I was very humbled to have received the Employee of the Quarter recognition. There are so many people who work for Prairie that are quite deserving. I was very honored to be recognized by my peers for doing a job that I really enjoy. We were eating dinner at a restaurant and an older man came up to me and said, 'You took care of my wife when she was a patient.' My contact with the patients is minimal, but I must have made a positive impact on him. It was very satisfying to know that I had made a positive impression."

  "I have worked at Prairie over 10 years and have developed a broad knowledge with arrhythmias, pacemakers and ICD. It makes you feel good when a colleague comes to you with medical questions; you know they really trust your knowledge. As a nurse, I live all the values of HSHS. When caring for patients, the nurse is the one the patient interacts primarily with. We provide care, education of their illness; explain procedures, and what they should expect after discharge. Patients rely on good care and trust that we are competent in our knowledge as a nurse. Prairie Cardiovascular is an outstanding cardiovascular group. The staff strives to provide compassionate care to their patients. The physicians provide the highest level of care possible. Prairie always continues to provide advances in medicine with research, new diagnosis and treatment."
