Our fully licensed and accredited, not-for-profit general acute care facility was established by the Hospital Sisters in 1875 with the mission of meeting the needs of those living within the two-county area. Today, St. Francis offers a full range of primary care services, which includes medical services; state-of-the-art imaging for diagnostic purposes; and physical, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. We are also the only hospital in the two-county area providing maternity services. Looking to the future to meet the needs of our community, St. Francis is undergoing exciting expansion, including a new 16,000-square-foot surgery department and complete renovation of the emergency department.
Our medical staff of more than 100 physicians represents several practice areas, including family practice, general surgery, orthopedics, anesthesiology, pathology and emergency medicine. Specialty physician services include allergy, cardiology, dermatology, nephrology, neurology, oncology, pulmonary, rheumatology and urology.
St. Francis is located halfway between St. Louis, Missouri and Springfield, Illinois and serves the areas of Montgomery and Macoupin counties. The total primary and secondary service area of the hospital has a population of approximately 50,000.
